Community Room Rental Policy
Kenai Local Food Connection aims to serve as an incubator for our community, and in so doing shall allow its space for temporary lease. If you are interested in using the Kenai Local Food Connection space, please review this page and contact kenailocalfood@gmail.com to initiate your inquiry. Reservation requests must be submitted through email first to Kenai Local Food Connection.

The Kenai Local Food Connection Space Use includes the room at the northeast corner of the Goods + Sustainable Grocery, which features French doors and a curtained partition. The room may be leased as an open space or furnished with tables and chairs for a conference or meeting space, dependent upon your needs.
WiFi is provided by The Goods and available for use with the room. The smart TV, HDMI cable, and remotes are available with a pre-arranged tutorial. However, there is no tech support available on call. We recommend you make this request at your initial inquiry. If you lose or damage any of the equipment, you will be expected to cover the cost of a replacement. You may contract with The Goods to cater any events within the Community Room; individual meeting participants are also welcome to purchase food and drinks from The Goods for consumption within the Community Room. Participants are responsible for bussing their dishes and cleaning up, as is the case throughout The Goods. A vacuum cleaner and additional cleaning supplies are available to return the room to order. The Goods + Sustainable Grocery has restrooms which are available for use with the room rental, located directly across from The Goods’ entrance on the south of the building. The kitchen, offices, and other spaces within The Goods are off-limits and are NOT included with the use of the Kenai Local Food Connection Community Room.

Community Room Operating Hours:
Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Saturdays 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

The room may be reserved for 3 hours, to include set up + clean up, for $40.00; for ‘All Day’ for anything beyond 3 hours, to include set up + clean up, the room may be reserved for $100.00. The full amount is due 48 hours before reservation, and may be made with cash or check. Reservations must be made 7-days in advance of the desired room use date. The Community Room may be available to lease outside of operating hours for non-standard rental rates that will be determined and based upon request. If a cancellation is necessary, please inform kenailocalfood@gmail.com 48 hours in advance of the reserved time; if you have already made your payment, it will be returned to you in full.

For informal groups, room use may be negotiated through commensurate volunteer hours, such as participating in a local food-focused class or volunteer activities depending on season and availability. Please reach out to kenailocalfood@gmail.com to learn more about such arrangements. Failure to complete agreed-upon volunteer activities could result in not being approved for future room use requests.

Users of the community room hold harmless from and indemnify Kenai Local Food Connection and The Goods for liability and claims arising out of acts or omissions of employees, participants, agent(s), or contractors. A certificate of insurance may be required.

Kenai Local Food Connection asks those that agree to use the room to take ownership of the space and to return the room to the condition in which it is found or better. Clean-up time must be accounted for in scheduling, and the room must be returned to order by the conclusion of the reserved time period. Failure to do so could result in not being approved for future room use requests.

Like any organic system, the Community Room is often in a state of flux and may change arrangement and order from week to week. For this reason, we recommend that those who reserve the room snap some quick photos upon arrival to help remember how to best return the space to the order in which it was found. Tables, chairs, and equipment must be returned to the original configuration within the time reserved. Dishes and glasses shall be bussed to the bins located by the kitchen’s pass-through.

The Goods and Kenai Local Food Connection share a desire to avoid single-use plastics and waste in general, including food waste, and we work hard to close the waste stream and support local composting and agrarian efforts. As such, we ask that food scraps be placed in compost buckets to help sustain our local food systems, and recyclables have designated bins–all of which are located by the kitchen’s pass-through. Paper trash and the like can be deposited in the garbage can within the Community Room and “packed out” at the end of space use. Anything else you use during your time at The Goods should be returned to whence it came. Wipe down any surfaces with a reusable rag and cleaning spray which will be provided to you. Run the vacuum cleaner before you leave.

Further questions and concerns can be directed to kenailocalfood@gmail.com regarding booking! Thank you and we hope to partner soon! All funds generated from temporary use of the Kenai Local Food Connection’s Community Room will go towards the non-profit’s work throughout our community.
