Soldotna Seed Library

What is the Seed Library?

The Soldotna Seed Library is a community resource housed at The Goods (45015 Kalifornsky Beach Rd) in Soldotna, Alaska. It provides free seeds to community members to grow their own vegetables, herbs and flowers. Community members can "check out" 5 seeds packets per family member for FREE. And just before growing season, we bump the number of packets up to 7, or even 10. We ask folks to record what they are taking, so we know what people want to grow. You can also save seeds from your own plants and return them to the library, so we have a stock of locally adapted seeds to provide to the community.

Want to Get Involved?

The Seed Librarians meet every Thursday from 10:30 am – 12 pm at The Goods. Stop by to learn more, ask questions, or share some seeds!

Upcoming Events:

We sponsor free workshops every year on various aspects of gardening, including seed saving. So stay tuned for future events! You can also follow the Seed Library on Facebook.
